GAP CREEK TRAIL
NATIONAL FOREST TRAIL

This trail goes between Catback Mountain and Middle Mountain.
Part of the trail tends to be very rocky in some areas, although
when you reach about three fourths of the way to the top of
the mountain, a trail turns south along the western slope of
Middle Mountain through some nice wooded areas. This trail
continues south and joins the Scothorn Gap trail which leads
back down off the mountain into Chrisman Hollow. If you do
not make the right turn heading south, Gap Creek trail will
continue up the mountain and over the top (elevation 2803 ft),
then down through Peach Orchard Gap into Duncan Hollow.
Duncan Hollow going north leads back to the camp. This
Peach Orchard Gap trail is not for the beginning rider or for
anyone who does not like high, rocky or narrow trails.
Depending on which trails that you choose to ride this can
be a four or five hour ride.
